Presentation Åsa Premberg
Åsa Premberg holds the position of Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Heath and Care Sciences at the Sahlgrenska Academy within the University of Gothenburg. She specialises in Reproductive and Perinatal Health and Midwifery. She defended her thesis First-time Fathers’ Experiences during Childbirth Education, Labour and Delivery, and during their First Year as Fathersin Februari 2011.. Åsa is registered as a nurse and midwife, and has worked clinically as a midwife for 25 years in a variety of settings.
Åsa is a research mentor at the Development and Research Centre in Primary Health Care at Göteborg and Södra Bohuslän since 2010. The centre supervises and educates healthcare providers in primary healthcare, including GPs, physical therapists, dieticians, and nurses in research theories and methodologies.
Åsa is also a member of BfiN. Her current research covers overweight and obesity during and after pregnancy, obesity during childhood, gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis and menopausal symptoms, and the topics covered under her thesis.
