Presentation Margareta Mollberg
Margareta Mollberg holds a position as Senior lecturer in reproductive and perinatal health and Midwifery Science at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, the Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Margareta has dual registration as nurse and midwife, a master degree in Public Health sciences, and a PhD in medical science. She is active lecturing in the midwifery program which is on the second cycle, and is teaching also on basic and advanced levels in other programs. Margareta has been working clinically as a midwife, in different obstetric clinical settings, over 25 years at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenborg Sweden.
Main focus of her research is on complications in obstetric care. She has been involved in research programs on tub bath during labor, premature rupture of the membranes and severe breestfeeding difficulties. Her thesis with the title obstetric brachial plexus palsy resulted in support of a prevention strategy for the clinician in the managemnet of shoulder dystocia. She is involved in the on-going research program The prevalence and risk factors for perineal trauma in childbirth together with associate professor Helena Lindgren. The focus for the research project are on investigating effective methods for the protection of the woman´s perineum.
